Warp (2025) explores areas of inconsistency and deterioration found in discarded textiles. The series isolates these areas and decontextualises them to offer a new outlook on textiles waste and the impact of perfectionism. The tweed featured in this piece was donated by Sussex Tweed, a sustainable micro-mill based in East Sussex. The cloth was damaged on the loom and, therefore, unfit for production. Through working with textiles that tell human stories and showcase the impact of time itself I aim to reframe the refuse of the fashion industry as objects of incidental beauty and encourage conversations around the impact of overconsumption and perfectionism on the climate and our community.
