The Salvedge Shift Shirt is the embodiment of individuality. Reworked from existing shirts, the design and shape of each piece is entirely dictated by the way it was originally created. The shirt is cropped and, using the remaining fabric, a shifted asymmetrical panel is added to the front. Fastened by buttons sourced from second-hand shops and vintage archives each Shift Shirt is entirely unique and tells the story of the history of its components. 

Shirt Shirt No. 05 has short sleeves, is made from 100% polyester and consists of a black and white stripe textile with charcoal grey contrast buttons. The label is handprinted on deadstock herringbone tape.

Length (side neck to hem) - 58cm (23")

Width (pit to pit) - 67cm (26.5")

Sleeve (shoulder seam to cuff edge) - 23cm (9")

Each shirt is 100% zero waste and designed to last so the final piece of fabric from the making process is included with the shirt in the form of a small pouch containing spare buttons. This pouch can be used to patch, personalise and repair the shirt so that it grows and evolves alongside the wearer because the story of each garment is as important to us as the garment itself.

If there comes a time when you no longer want your Shift Shirt or you feel it would be more useful in a new form you can return it to our studio. We can redesign the shirt for you or find it a new home, ensuring that the Shift Shirt story continues for as long as possible.
